Application Closes: April 24th

About

We are excited to announce that The Kendeda Building for Innovative Sustainable Design is hiring for its paid undergraduate Fellowship. We are looking for two passionate undergraduates who want to immerse themselves in the design ethos of the region’s first Living Building.

Undergraduate applicants must be in their second or third year by next semester (i.e., by the time they start in spring or fall 2023) and commit at least 4 hours a week per semester. Fellows will receive hourly compensation. The initial term is for the Fall Semester with the option for renewal based on performance. A two-year commitment to the Fellowship is preferred but not mandatory.

The prime responsibility of undergraduate Fellows will be to lead tours, with additional opportunities to execute data visualization and create social media content that further the mission of The Kendeda Building. To effectively lead tours, Fellows will have to first learn about the Living Building Challenge and how the building satisfies the certification requirements. Therefore, Undergraduate Fellows will be required to attend mandatory trainings and actively study their Living Building Challenge and tour guide manuals.

Serving as an undergraduate Kendeda Building Fellow is a unique opportunity to gain cutting-edge knowledge in sustainability while educating the general public of regenerative design principles. As part of their training, Fellows will have the opportunity to connect and network with architects and professionals who helped develop one of the most ambitious and holistic green buildings in the world. The Fellows program aims to offer students a level of exposure and experience that will help them excel in their educational and professional careers.
