Julie Eidson was selected through the Georgia Intern Fellowships for Teachers (GIFT) Program for Summer 2022 and returned in Summer 2023. The lesson she created aligns to Georgia fifth grade science standards focusing on energy.
This lesson is designed to explore the Energy Petal of the Living Building Challenge by focusing on the practical application of circuits. Students will engage in hands-on activities to learn how to create simple circuits using batteries or solar panels. Through this exploration, students will not only grasp the fundamentals of circuitry but also appreciate the role of renewable energy sources in reducing our environmental impact.
